Christmas Fever

Christmas starts at Thanksgiving’s end,
Still full on turkey when sales begin,
It’s time for shopping, presents and gifts,
Traffic and shopping cart parking lot hits,
Register lines and kids screaming fits,
Hair pulling headaches and losing your wits,
Leave plenty of time for liquor store list,
You’ll need certain things for this holiday bliss,
Party supplies like cheese balls and wine,
New strands of lights for that Christmas tree shine,
Extra rolls of tape for wrapping this time,
Re-use the bows though, I’m sure that it’s fine,
If you pass a red kettle then toss in a dime,
Toss in a dollar, whatever you like,
Someone is watching, you know that I’m right,
Cuz it’s that time of year when reindeer take flight,
Santa has a list and he’s checking it twice,
A big X for naughty and a smiley for nice,
We celebrate this time for the birth of our Christ,
He gave the biggest gift of all, his life,
So that when we behave naughty we still get marked nice,
So a merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
